Angelina Jolie will always deliver effortless elegance.
The actor, known sartorially for her quietly luxurious sense of style, exuded sophistication once more as she walked the red carpet Wednesday at the 40th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Her ensemble was ivory and monochrome, the centerpiece being a silky floor-length dress with a straight high neckline and thin straps. The piece dropped down to an easy cowl detail at the back, leaving it open aside from a shimmery silver horizontal strap. Jolie’s many elaborate back tattoos acted as artful embellishments to the look.

The Atelier Jolie founder wore the dress only with black, pointy slingback heels and small gold-and-diamond earrings. She later stayed warm with a structured icy-white blazer.

Jolie was honored with the Maltin Modern Master Award at the red-carpet event held in Santa Barbara, California’s Arlington Theatre. The award is the film festival’s highest honor, and goes to people who’ve significantly impacted culture through their work in film.

At the event, the actor, director, and philanthropist was asked by a KSBY News reporter about her advice to other people trying to make an impact on the world today. “I think it’s very important to listen these days, to really listen and listen most to people with lived experiences and people from the places where… there is struggle and conflict,” Jolie said, adding, “just really taking the time to listen before you speak and, and give space to other people and other voices.”
